Data protection
What is collected
BeeHeard collects no data that could identify you directly. No name, no address, no contact details are requested or retained.
The following information is recorded:
- A pseudonym generated automatically by the system
- The capacity in which you are reporting
- The account you write
- The barriers you identify
- Depending on the anonymisation level chosen, your canton and age range
Anonymisation levels
You choose, at the time of submission, the level applied to your contribution. This choice is irreversible and takes effect immediately.
- Full. Neither canton nor age range is kept. Only your account and the identified barriers are recorded.
- Partial. The canton is kept, the age range is removed.
- Extended. Canton and age range are kept, allowing finer analysis.
In the field of rare diseases, the small number of people concerned increases the risk that a combination of attributes could identify someone. This is why full anonymisation is offered by default.
Permitted uses
You grant separate consent for each intended use. None is enabled by default.
- Aggregated statistics. Your account feeds counts and breakdowns, without being displayed individually.
- Publication. Your account may be displayed in anonymised form in the consultation area.
- Advocacy. Your account may be used in materials intended for associations, health organisations or decision-makers.
Legal framework
Health-related data is classified as sensitive under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Its processing requires explicit consent, collected before any recording and stored with its date and the version of the text accepted.
Review before publication
No account is published automatically. Each contribution is reviewed before being included in the consultable data, to verify that it contains no information likely to identify a person.
Status of this prototype
BeeHeard is a prototype developed for academic demonstration purposes. It is not deployed in production and the data it currently contains is fictitious. No real account should be submitted in its current state.
